Delphi Group's successful BPM conference hits key process issues;
builds lasting, linked community of process professionals.
Coronado, CA - September 7, 2004 : Delphi Group has wrapped up what is widely regarded as the industry's most successful BPM conference. As BPX 2004 attendee Norm Richard of CMBC's Process Services Department explains, "Delphi really hit the nail on the head with BPX 2004 -- a fast paced, informative, interesting and enlightening conference. A Real Winner!"
Richard's comments were echoed by many others. Lewis Averill of Viacore, described BPX 2004 as, "The most effective summit on business process I have ever attended." Conference co-chair Nathaniel Palmer observed, "As our eighth annual conference on business process, BPX2004 was the highest rated by far and has clearly set the benchmark for the industry!"
BPX 2004 provided a 3-day tour-de-force of the industry's foremost leaders and luminaries, including market visionaries Jim Champy, Tom Davenport and Howard Smith, and leading BPM users and practitioners who elaborated on their projects in the dozens of case studies presented.
The event was host to a number of industry milestones and announcements, including the presentation of the first commercial open source BPM engine submitted to the Apache Software Foundation. Wayne Snell, Director of Marketing at Fuego (the BPX 2004 Platinum Sponsor) states "Our customers and prospects told us BPX 2004 was the most informative and comprehensive conference on BPM that they have found to date."
Beyond the content presented at the conference, BPX 2004 provided an unprecedented networking forum. "The genuine sense of community which came out of BPX 2004 was nothing short of remarkable," observes Palmer. "I have never participated in an event with such a cohesive group of attendees."
This sentiment was repeated by a leading CIO who offered, "Attending BPX 2004 provided an open forum for lively, informative discussion and will allow us to speed our transformation to a process-based business. Delphi Group got it right!"
At BPX 2004, Delphi Group introduced a number of programs and tools to facilitate collaboration and networking, both during the event and afterwards to sustain the community once participants returned to their jobs. Significant among these is the pioneering use of a dedicated 'LinkedIn' network for attendees, the first ever in the business process arena. The founder of LinkedIn, the world's largest social networking community with over one million members, spoke at BPX 2004 and collaborated with attendees throughout the event.
As a result of the success of BPX 2004, Delphi Group will double its BPM offerings in 2005 with two events to be held in the Summer and the Fall. As Palmer explains, "The tempo set by BPX 2004 is extraordinary and has created momentum that will last well into next year."
